Tin Festival, Herberton         Laurdag - 28/09/2002 - Saturday



I 1880 fann dei tinn her, og Herberton blei den første byen på The Tableland. Dei har slutta å utvinna tin, men har kvart år sin lokale Tinfestival. Lignar mykje på vår lokale Rennesøydag, men har heilt andre øvelser.

Tinfestivalen kolliderte med årets fotballkamp på tv ---> få frammøtte! 

Tidlegare i dag var vi på eit stort marked i Yungaburra. Vi kjøpte ein del souvenirer til å ta med heim. (Til oss sjøl - ikkje til andre!)
 

 

 

 In 1880 they found tin in this area, and Herberton became the first town on The Tableland. There's no tin mining anymore, but the town still has its anual Tin Festival. Looks like our local day back home, but other events.

Only a few spectators cause of an important footballmatch on tv that day ....!

Earlier this day we went to the Yungaburra market. A great one. We bought lots of things to bring back home. (Just for ourselves - not to others!)
